My Milage Widget

After getting back from a long vacation weekend filled with plenty of driving, I started thinking. How many miles have I driven. Not just today, not just this week, but since I started driving. I started thinking back to my truck.

I got it with 1.7 miles on the odometer. So I started thinking about the car before that. I got it when it had about 40,000 miles on it. And further back, on my mom's van, my dad's truck, friends cars. I really spent some time thinking.

Then the programmer in my head took over. I wanted to see how many miles I could find. So I started building a little MySQL table that I could enter trips into. Then I built a nice front end that acts like an excel document that every entry triggers one extra line that I can add another entry to.

I'm going to see how many miles I can put into this thing. I'm curious how many there are. As of now, I'm just over 230,000 miles.

Now... I wonder, how many gallons of fuel have I consumed?

Hmm....I do wonder.
